About Scott Drug

Scott Drug was founded in 1962 by Jack & Verda Scott. It was originally located at 809 6th Avenue, the present location of Associated Insurance Counselors. In 1969, Scott Drug moved two blocks south to its current location at 629 6th Avenue. This building previously housed the Skeffington Grocery Store, prior to its move. To the west of the pharmacy stood a State operated liquor store. In 1978, Jack & Verda purchased this liquor store and merged the two buildings into one.

Jack continued to operate Scott Drug until 1996 when he sold the business to Dennis Bousselot, RPh and Jolene Henning, RPh. Dennis had worked under Jack for many years. He started as a stock boy while he was in high school.  After college, Dennis pursued other avenues in pharmacy before returning to his hometown and his old boss in 1978.  Jolene started with Scott Drug as a pharmacy intern in 1986 and 1987 and was then hired by Jack as a pharmacist in 1995, bringing her back to her native Clinton County roots. In the fall of 2003, Dennis and Jolene opened a ‘closed-door’ pharmacy used solely for individuals living in nursing homes and group facilities. Then in December of that year, they opened the Scott Drug Clinic Pharmacy inside of the DeWitt Family Health Medical Clinic at 1021 11th Street. They ran the businesses together for 10 years. Then in late 2007, Jolene sold her portion to Dennis in an effort to free up her schedule.

Dennis continued to own and operate Scott Drug until his retirement in 2010. Upon his retirement, the three pharmacies were sold to Patti Trenkamp, Pharm.D. and Jennifer Walker, Pharm.D.  Patti has been a fixture at Scott Drug since she joined the team in 2002.  Jennifer also has an extended history with Scott Drug.  After getting her pharmacy start in the Minneapolis metro-area, she moved to Dewitt and to Scott Drug in 2007.  Patti and Jennifer strive to continue to offer the same great personal service that the community has come to expect. Celebrating over 50 years in business, the staff at Scott Drug wishes to thank our current patrons.  We invite those that haven't visited us yet to stop in and experience our excellent customer service.
